I was watching an interview with Shohreh Aghdashloo last night in which she verbally attacked Googoosh in a very ugly manner. in fact after this interview I thought about one of our national psychological disorders and diseases and that is "attacking others with no particluar reason" .have you ever ever thought about the fact that we iranians spend hours after hours to talk behind other's backs about things that are not related to us at all? dont you think we should think about this problem some day and solve it?
Isn't it true why we iranians never tolerate other's success and popularity? when a compatriot of ours becomes popular he suddenly gets attacked from everywhere. many iranians not only never pat his back or encourage him with nice words, but also try to do something to topple him and destroy his image for good. one of the most outstanding presentations of such behaviour can be seen by shohreh Aghdashloo, the oscar naminee for the previous year who takes every chance to destroy the popular persian diva Googoosh.
Aghdashloo hates Googoosh. this is a fact. everybody who watches stellite tvs knows that. she makes the most of each and every opportunity to attack Googoosh whenever she happens to be on the air.i remember her while she was on Pars tv in the year 2000 and at them time when Googoosh had come out of isolation and later on, on jaame jam tv, when she countinously said ugly things about her. just last night i was watching her interview on one of these so called tvs and i saw it for myself once again. she talked about Googoosh with such rage as if Googoosh has killed her dad. she had done the same thing on many other occasions in the past and i have always wondered why.
In this article I would like to anlayse the situation to get to the bottom of the matter ? what is wrong in our culture that we can never tolerate each other and resort to personality assasination to detroy others whenever we get a chance? and in the end I would like to ask your readers to help me find and answer. I am not doing it for the sake of Googoosh or anybody else. I am doing it because when Aghdashloo who claims to be an intellectual appears on the tv and without any particular reason makes faces for another artist like a clown, it shows a big probelm in our culture. I think we iranians have problems and need to see a doctor very soon.
To further calrify the situation I thought about possible incentives for personality assasinations and to make it simple I would make all my examples from last night's interview. there could be various reasons for Aghdashloo's personal hatred and i will put them as possible scenarios:
Scenario 1- Aghdashloo is a patriotic heroine and Googoosh has betrayed her country and that is the root of this strong feelings. I don't think so. Aghdashloo and patrioticism? wow. just a few weeks ago all of us saw her in a tv program which showed an iranian woman as a terrorist who killed her son's girl friend in cold blood. in fact she brought a big loss of face for all of us iranian women in that episode. everybody knows that Googoosh has been dealing with charlattans and mobsters these four years but on the stage she always told us "I wish if one day there will be justice and freedom, we could get togehter in iran" AREZOO MIKONAM AGAR ROOZI EDALAT O AZADI BASHE HAME BA HAM IRAN BASHIM.
Scenario 2- Aghdashloo thinks given the massive amount of Googoosh's popularity she should have done better for her country. this scenario does not fit too because i do not see any spectacular action on behalf of other iranian artists including Aghdashloo herself in the past quarter of century.while Googoosh has done whatever she could to put the message of freedom through to the people since the moment she left iran 4 years ago and in her masterpiece album Zartosht and later on in QQ Bang Bang and Akharin Khabar.
Scenario 3- Googoosh does not want to work with los angeles mobsters anymore and all these interviews by that trashy tvs are to put more pressure on her. in fact the interviewer last night was the same guy who Googoosh does not like to work with anymore.!!!!! I respect Googoosh for standing for her principles. she could easily keep quite and continue to work with charlattans and get $ 150,000 for each concert, but at one moment she said a big NO to them and decided to stood firm against them. but I don't think an intellectual like Aghdashloo will ever succumb to charlattans and say those things for making them happy. never never never
Scenario 4- Aghdashloo is simply jealous and that is the reason for her hatred of Googoosh. I am afraid this is the only possible scenario that makes sense to me. what other reason there should be? Googoosh has not for one single moment talked or given opinions about Aghdashloo and other artists in any media whatsoever, yet she has always been verbally attacked by her. Aghdashloo talked about things that is not related to her and she has no detail information about it. you have to see the light of hatred in her eyes whenever she talks about Googoosh. but why? Aghdashloo has her own career and follows it properly and why should there be such a strong feeling toward another artist who has never crossed her way? is there any other reason beyond jealousy? I know quite well that Aghdashloo has come a long way and quite desereves what she has. I remember her working for some radio in los angeles for a few hundred dollars a month, driving a battered car and living with hardship these past 25 years, but Googoosh has had her share of hardship too. she has had experiences of jail, solitude and betrayal over and over again in her life.
yes that is jealoury. it should be jealousy. this is our national psychological disorder. just look at this tv personality attacking the other one, or this politician and opposition leader attacking his opposite number all day long , seven days a week. they are all jealous. jealous of their competitors's success, fame and popularity. they want to detroy their opponents because their opponents happen to better than them in many ways. I think I am jealous too, sometimes I do things that on second thought I would never do.dont you thinks many of us iranians need shrink to get freed from this god damned jealousy we have.
in the end I hope your readers will help me with their views and let me know about their possible remedies about this kiler disease. I hope they do it not only to save shohreh Aghdashloos of our country, but also keep people like Googoosh away from harm too.

Dear National Geographic Editors,
We the undersigned, through this letter, protest your irresponsible and unscientific actions.
This letter is in concern of publication of a map by your organization, which, according to all international organizations, is fraudulent and distorted, and its publication guarantees the violation of undeniable international legal rights.
It is a proven scholarly fact that the name of the Persian Gulf is a genuine name, with historical roots, and using any fraudulent names such as the "Arabian Gulf", and islands "Occupied by Iran" is in fact inducing political animosity.
We did not expect National Geographic, as a prestigious international scientific institution, to ignore the proven obvious, and damage its own reputation on the basis of political intentions, and thus create an atmosphere of public mistrust in its content, and hurt the national pride of the millions of Persian speakers while doing so.
While announcing our disgust at such a heresy, we demand an immediate editorial review and correction of this publication by the National Geographic.Sincerely,
